Something Very Odd

Something really strange happened to me yesterday.

Over the last few weeks I had it in mind that I would start afresh properly on January 2nd, however woke up yesterday and figured that was as good a day as any.  I suggested to Mr DF that we walk to our local Outlet Village, around 40 minutes each way.  He agreed (just as well as there weren't any buses and I suspect we both were still over the limit for driving *cough*).

Anyhows, I had me some porridge for my breakfast (a sure sign that I'm planning a healthier day!) before we set out.  It was a very mild day and we set out with best foot forward and I ended up carrying my jacket before we had got too far.

We arrived at the shopping centre and I hit M&S and Next and picked up a few shirts for work (new dress code, we aren't allowed to wear jumpers anymore).  Cue my strop of the day.  Despite getting them really cheaply (outlet village + sale prices = bargains), I had to go up a size due to my boobs getting in the way.  Not impressed.  Not surprised I have to admit, you can't be eating and drinking the way I have in the last 4 months and not expect to pay the price, but it still hurt, nevertheless.

I was somewhat mollified though in Whittards when I found my beloved flavoured coffees were back in stock, so I picked up a vanilla, a chocolate truffle and a rich hazlenut.

not the actual ones I bought yesterday but I can't find my camera! These were a previous purchase
It was then that Something Very Odd happened.

I felt something gurgling in my tummy, a really weird sensation.  It took me a moment or two to realise that I wasn't about to collapse with appendicitis (just as well as I had that removed on New Year's Eve of 1985 into 1986).  No siree, this weird feeling in my tum was............ HUNGER!  Something I'd not experienced for many weeks.  Oh My God, was I going to faint from not eating anything for almost 3 hours??????  Oddly enough I didn't.   Mr DF was a knight in shining armour, he suggested we go to the food hall and have some lunch :)  And I'm proud to report I didn't have the KFC or Harry Ramsden's chips, or massive turkey baguette or McDonalds that was on offer.

Ok, maybe the slice of spinach & mushroom pizza wasn't THE best choice, but it's a definite improvement from recent weeks.

Last night saw me having a very healthy mince and mashed potato dish, all of which were counted and entered into my food diary.

Then this morning another Very Odd Thing happened.

I hauled my lardarse out of bed and climbed into my running gear (which was a feat in itself as it's all rather tight, to say the least!).  I then opened the back door and went for a 'run'.  Well, it was more of a glorified speed walk with a bit of bounce (I won't mention what bounced :p )

I'm back.  Operation DWINDLE is up and running again.  I'm...

  3. Haha, well done! I had that moment today, I hadn't felt proper hunger in a good few weeks and it actually felt good to feel it properly again. I'm just glad my 6 month pregnant looking bloated belly is almost back to normal!
