I only went and got married!

What an amazing 18 days that was!

It started on the Wednesday when my visitors all descended on me and we girls all went out for an Italian meal and a few drinks – ok, maybe a number of drinks!

Then on the Thursday morning came a visit to the Poodle Parlour where a friend and I were pampered and preened to within an inch of our eyelashes.

Then on the Thursday afternoon I relocated to the hotel where the wedding was taking place the following day along with 2 of my friends who had stayed over at my house on the Wednesday and were staying at the hotel for the night before and the night of the wedding itself.  We had a lovely evening with a great meal, more than a few drinks, a lot of tears from me as I completely over-reacted to a minor little hiccup at the hotel (which all came good) and then to bed.

I woke at 4.30 am – can’t think why!

Apart from the moments when my 2 daughters were placed into my arms after being born, this was quite simply the Best Day Of My Life. The weather was superb. Everything ran like clockwork from the moment Amelia arrived to do 4 lots of make up and Wayne arrived armed with GHDs and hairspray!

A real 'Before' picture!  Me, waiting my turn to be made up and hair done!

Ready to leave the room to make my way downstairs
The service itself is a blur – to the point that we could not remember what promises we had opted to make to each other! Luckily though the registry office have sent us a complete script of the whole event – how cool is that!

More than a few tears were shed I do believe by a number of people, including me and my husband! We are a soppy pair.....

Then to the pictures......  We had the most amazing weather, bright blue skies and warm sunshine.  The last real day of summer I think!  I haven't seen any of the official photographs yet, but thanks to the wonder that is Facebook, pictures were being posted as they were being taken!  We spent a good hour I guess until my face ached from all the smiling :)

The first picture of me as a married woman :)

Who is that gorgeous man?  Oh yes!  My husband....

A much needed glass of fizz :p

We then sat down for the meal and the speeches.  By now I had very little appetite, I think I was running on adrenaline!  I was soooooooooooooooooo happy I can't describe in words quite how I felt, other than it was just WONDERFUL.

By now it was 7pm and time to move to the evening venue for a partaaaaay!!!! The room was beautifully decorated by a very good friend of ours – we were blown away. People started arriving straight away and it was a constant round of meeting, greeting, hugging, laughing, dancing and lots of merry making. I actually drank very little which I’m really pleased with as I’d heard horror stories of how easy it is to be plied with drinks and it all get too much too quickly! Our friend had organised a bottle of wine for me and me alone so I knew exactly how much I was having – and you know what, I think a good half, if not more, was left over by the end of the most amazing day ever.

Blurry but me and my 3 best friends in the whole wide world

Then it was back to the hotel where we sat in the bar and my friend rubbed my feet which were, by now, killing me! We finally made it to bed around 2.45 am where we found that 2 of my friends had managed to sneak the key to our room and littered the room with confetti!

Up early for breakfast and meeting up with those who stayed over at the same hotel as us and then back home for a while to finish packing for our honeymoon which we flew out for on Sunday!

I will cover that and post the honeymoon pics (not all of them.... :p) in another post tomorrow, so watch this space.

There feels like there's still so much to say but I will save it and leave you for now with some more pics.

Til next time x
