And So To The Honeymoon

Apologies I didn't do this when I said I would.  I was on rest days from work and they fairly zipped by!  I then returned to work 'properly' for the first time on Saturday and boy, did it knock me for 6!  I have been absolutely shattered and am dozing the evenings away - a right waste of an evening, very frustrating :(

Anyhow, I digress.  The Honeymoon was Amazing.

We went to Lanzarote which we both absolutely love and adore.  We know the area well and didn't do any of the tourist stuff.  We slept.  We ate.  We drank.  We sunbathed.

It's probably best told in pictures.

note the heart shape of the cucumber!

The inevitable homemade cheese 'n' ham toasties :)

oh boy, this was sheer heaven on a plate!

probably the healthiest meal of the whole Honeymoon!
I had one night where I was really violently ill after eating an Indian curry.  This, believe it or not, is a lamb passanda.....and it was pretty much the same colour coming out as going in :(

I have to be honest and admit to eating utter crap pretty much the whole time I was there (if you haven't already guessed!!!!!)  But you know what?  I don't regret a single minute of it.  We both needed this time together and I was prepared for the inevitable gain on the scales on my return.  I wasn't able to run as often as I had back in June as this time it was soooooooooooo hot.  That, mixed with eating crap and drinking wine every single day contributed to a 9 pound gain.

Impressive huh?

I dropped 3 pounds within a couple of days thus proving the flying bloat is real, but since then I have really struggled to get back on track.  I start most days with good intentions but by lunchtime it generally goes out the window.

Must. Try. Harder.

I'm not going to start beating myself up too much just yet but I DO need to get a grip.

Despite all that, I'm not letting it spoil the memories of my Honeymoon.  I will leave you with these :)

Just look at the colour of that sky!

  1. Wow it looks like you had an amazing time. And so what if you gained a few pounds- life is for enjoying so you should relax and enjoy your honeymoon.

  2. That looks amazing, you look amazing. It sounds exactly how a honeymoon should be although I noticed a serious lack of bottles of bubbly, was that intentional? ;-)
