I'm starting my week with 2 lovely rest days from work having done a set of late shifts over the weekend. No great loss in hindsight, given the weather!
My usual routine when I get home from work after a late shift is to put my porridge oats to soak, however last night I just could not summon up the enthusiasm for porridge for breakfast again. I am a creature of habit, if I like something, and it hits the spot, I tend to have it over and over again.
Porridge is one of those things. I have it with greek yogurt, blueberries, hot chocolate powder, protein powder, peaches, strawberries, agave nectar, dessicated coconut and so on. Not all at the same time......
I've had various granolas with yogurts and fruits:
I've even been know to have something like:
My breakfast shelf is right at the bottom of the cupboard and goes back quite a long way. This morning I knelt down and peered in..... and found this:
It was the box that I won in a giveaway from Laura. So this morning I've had:
That's 50g of cereal with 80g of natural low fat yogurt and 50g of my beloved blueberries. You can't actually see the granola for the yogurt and fruit, but believe me, it was there and very delicious! Apple & cinnamon flavour, very subtle but there nevertheless :)
What you also see in the picture is a cup of Whittards Caramel Coffee, my fizzy Vitamin C tabs, Zinc supplement and Vogel Echinaforce.
The Vitamin C and Zinc are regular supplements but the Vogel Echinaforce has been recommended to me to take in the month's run up to The Big Day to try to keep any nasty bugs and germs at bay. I have to say, IT TASTES DISGUSTING! But I'm persevering.
What is your favourite breakfast (or brekkie as I like to call it :p )
And what, if any, supplements do you take and why?
Til next time x

for a while now Ive been eating a dinner'ish meal for breakfast! salmon, chicken etc and veggies.
ReplyDeletefor some reason it really seems to set me up well for my crazy days!
If I could I would have French toast with maple syrup, diced up fruit and bacon every morning but then I would be humungous so its limited as an occasional treat :-). With 7 hens out back I seem to have scrambled egg with something more often than not.
ReplyDeleteI love breakfast and I'm not sure that I could choose a favourite. I love porridge with bananas and flaxseed or cocoa powder. I also like eggs (poached, boiled, scrambled, omelette). My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping all this nonsense has missed you but I have a feeling not so wanted to send you lots of love and strength to get you through xxxx
ReplyDeleteI love granola so much have stopped making it.
